This project proposal presents results of the Transition Arena activities in Sicily, Madonie region, in the frames of the FoTRRIS project.
Transitional Arena (more about the concept please read on: www.fotrris-h2020.eu ) participants worked together in the field of renewable energy. Their work was supported and facilitated by the Sicilian Competence Cell members.
The aim of such cooperation was to gather, capitalize and further develop the consulting, participatory and concerted actions experience launched within the drafting process of the National Strategy of Inner Areas applied to Madonie pilot site, using co-RRI principles and solving glocal challenge.
The three workshops, scheduled from January to April 2017, have taken advantage from the collaborative actions with stakeholders, who are active in the Madonie area, with competences in the field of renewables, belonging to different organizations from public administration, research, industry and civil society. As a result, such network stimulated co-production of several project proposals for the mentioned sector in Madonie region.

Gender Stereotypes in University Students
The research shows the conception of gender and gender stereotypes that exist in university students in Spain, and with it we want to get visibility to the differences that still exist between the two sexes.

Our aim is to analyze the way in which the written press El PaÃs and El Mundo, and the digital newspaper Eldiario.es have shown the events surrounding the Melilla border especially those in reference to the installation of “barbed wires†(concertinas), since this is the main cause of conflict between Spain and Morocco.
Outreach Workshop UCM
refugeesoutreachvalidationwomen and disability
Final workshop of the Transition Experiment from Spain. We will celebrate our outreach workshop togeteher, Refugees and Women with Disability topics, in order to validate our methodology . We will discuss our competence cell to next future steps.
The objective of this international workshop is to collectively develop a H2020 research and innovation project proposal related with migration/refugees, using the principles of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). The core idea is to benefit from the methodogical synergies created by a previous H2020 R&I research project FotRRIS, using the present experiment (workshop) as a tool and kick-off action for planning a new project proposal.
Research set up and design -Master
This course forms part of the Master in Communication of the Organizations (UCM). Postgraduate study focused on the excellence of professional and scientific research. The teaching proposal is based on the learning by doing experiential methodology; a teaching ability based on projects. Students learn to develop a research in a self-sufficient way, from the initial approach to the dissemination of the results. The activities that are developed in the lecture room are done by cooperating. Co-working dynamics are encouraged by the use of collaborative computer tools for the creation and transmission of knowledge. In the same way, students include the lines of Responsible Research and Innovation-that are fostered by the European Commission- in their research projects. Thus, responsible research and innovation is understood as a collaborative activity that considers societal actors in all the stages of the research and innovation process.
Scarcity of Materials

Materials become more and more scarce in a sense that material abstraction will become technologically difficult (e.g. you need to drill very deep), economically not viable or unwanted from a societal point of view (e.g. you destroy very important habitats such as Antarctica).
In this project we want to collectively develop a responsible research and innovation (RRI) project proposal that helps us answering the following question: How can we enhance human wellbeing and a healthy planet by handling materials in a different way in Flanders (Belgium)? This project proposal will deal with one of the lock-ins that prevent us from obtaining a more sustainable use of materials by making use of the leverages that are already there. Moreover, it will build further on these leverages and make use of them to create an environment in which alternative ways of dealing with waste and materials can flourish.
In this project we will focus on the built environment and consumer electronics.
The concept will be formed within 3 workshops with stakeholders from different groups of society (scientists, policy makers, social and sustainable entrepreneurs and social organistations…). Working language is in Dutch

Sustainable Food System - Nachhaltige Lebensmittelversorgung
In Austria, the IFZ team organises a series of workshops, where committed stakeholders from policy, farms, research, and alternative food scene work together to create a more sustainable and social just food system in the area of Graz.
Sandra Karner, Anita Thaler and Magdalena Wicher organise and moderate these workshops in the framework of the EU project FoTRRIS (http://fotrris-h2020.eu/), where the cooperative and responsible research (Responsible Research and Innovation, RRI) about the “grand challenges” (like climate change) is in the focus.
A first workshop broached the issues of the current system (David Steinwender presented a study “Graz feeds itself”) and by which measures and ideas the food system in Graz could be optimised. Finally the ideas where mapped according to their feasibility. If you are interested in more information, please contact the IFZ-team of FoTRRIS (http://www.ifz.at/eng/content/view/full/8971).
